the start of the new year didn't start off like how i wish it did
but nevertheless, it wasn't that bad
just that it could've been better.
but everything could be better right ?
there's always room for improvement you might say

but i must agree that i felt the chinese new year mood more than last year,
which is a good thing.
buying new sheets, decorating the house a teeny wee bit
and buying new clothes and of cause, underwear.
i wouldn't say that i'm the superstitious sort,
i'm just doing it so that i can psychologically 'feel better' about everything

i did what i could to the best of my ability
but some things just cannot be avoided.
squabbles and what nots are cases in point,
not typically a nice way to start the new year
but i guess the air's has been cleared up abit for now
and things are looking (hopefully) much rosier
there's so much for me to learn and grow
and i hope that there's sufficient time involved,
asking a snail to run is quite the contrary
but it'll move eventually, right ?

whoever said it was easy is probably so wrong
it's never easy
and yes,
it does take two to clap.
i understand how it works,
just that i have to take my time to learn,
not the hard way
and i do want to learn,
that's needless to say.

seeking solitude,
i understand that.

going back to (an army) camp totally brought back memories.
the regimentation, i forgot i couldnt book in in slippers. haha
no camera phone
green outfits
the stench (wherever, whoever u might think of)
the poor NSFs who have to be on duty on a sat evening
the WO who can be mistaken as coffee shop uncles.

all these
what for, u might ask?
no, not for reservist
at least hopefully not in the next two years where i'm still in school.
for IPPT.
its a routine for us guys.
its the first one since i ORD-ed and i was quite clueless bout the procedures lest the the few tips some of my friends gave me.
we're supposed to clear it before our birthday, so being the last min me, i just cleared it last saturday
and i'm so glad i passed, silver to be exact!
thats a $200 ang pow for me coming my way..
hahah.
i've nv reached gold standards since my running has always sucked.
but oh wells, i'm not complaining about the extra cash i'm gonna get and forget RT (remedial trg for those failures)!
yay!

CNY's approaching and i'm really quite excited.
just an excuse for me to get one or two new outfits.
but that's besides the point,
shopping for new year goodies and what nots,
somehow means a little more than last year.
i guess i'm starting to appreciate what its like being chinese.
:)
